We Were Liars
When I first read this book, it was not my favorite. It's not necessarily that I had a hard time getting into it, it was fairly interesting from the beginning, a kind of mystery but one your not sure where to start in figuring it out, I didn't see the end coming, but that could have been because I didn't like it enough to really get into it and try to figure it out. It has a slow build up, at least to me, so I didn't really have a drive to try and figure it out. Even once it was done I can't say that I loved it, but for weeks after I finished it I found myself still thinking about it, which for me meant that, dispite my initial lack of initial interest, the book had made a lasting impact on me. It took me several weeks of thinking back on the book to realize just how much I actually liked the book. It's not the happiest of story lines, so don't expect a happily ever after. Also fair warning, this book does contain foul language, if I remember correctly it drops the F word once, maybe twice. LIke I said before, that usually puts me off a book, and for as little interest as I had in this book initially, I'm actually surprised I kept going, but it was close enough to the end that I just finished it. Anyway, it was a good book, that makes you think and will stick with you for a while after you've finished.
